Join us for this special season of services and events as we prepare for, welcome and celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus: our Lord and Saviour, the Light of the World.

10am Saturday 1st December

We decorate the Christmas trees in the church: A fun-filled morning as organisations connected with the church and from around Myland gather together for a morning of Christmas creativity. Click here for more information; and click here to see photos taken at last year's event!

10.15am Sunday 2nd December

Advent Sunday Service: We light the first candle in our Advent Wreath. The other candles are lit one on each Sunday in Advent, with the final (centre) candle lit on Christmas Day. Click here to find out about Advent (the link will take you to a brochure on the Church of England website).

4pm Sunday 2nd December

Lighting of the Christmas Trees & First Carols of Christmas Service: We light the Christmas trees as we sing our joy with Christmas carols. Click here for more information.

10am - 12 noon Saturday 8th December

Christmas Coffee and Cake: Festive refreshments, and we draw the winners of our Christmas Grand Draw.

10.15am Sunday 9th December

Christingle Family Service: We make and light our Christingles and support the work of The Children's Society. Click here for more information about Christingles.

6.30pm Sunday 16th December

Carols by Candlelight: A delightful service of carol singing and readings celebrating the Christmas season as we enjoy the beauty of our Victorian church by candlelight.

Sunday 23rd December

10.15am Quiet Christmas Communion with Carols: We share together a peaceful service with light carols.

Monday 24th December, Christmas Eve

3pm Crib and 'dressing up' Nativity Service: For families with young children. Children can dress as Mary, Joseph, angels, innkeepers, shepherds, kings, sheep or camels to help us tell the Nativity story.

5pm Carols by Candlelight Service: For children and families.

7pm Traditional Carols and Candles: For all, a traditional service with carols and prayers by candlelight.

11.30pm Midnight Communion: We rejoice in and give thanks for the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Tuesday 25th December, Christmas Day

10.15am ‘Christmas Crackers’ with Holy Communion: This is a more informal service sharing Holy Communion, and with festive fun pulling our Christmas crackers!

St. Michael's will also be hosting other carol services and concerts during December, including ones for the Myland Mothers' Union, Women's Institute and East Anglia's Children's Hospices. Please check our calendar for the date for these services.
