We celebrate the joy of music and song with occasional concerts in the church. Heartfelt thanks go to our entertainers for these evenings, and to everyone who helps with the arrangements and/or comes along to these events.

Held on Saturday 16th June 2018

We were delighted to welcome the Military Wives Choir, Colchester in concert at St. Michael's Church. It was a beautiful and inspiring evening with £917.40 raised for St. Michael's restoration project.

A Joyful Fundraising Concert

A joyful concert was held at St. Michael’s on Saturday 25th March. Organised by the Myland Singers, the event was held in aid of Brain Tumour Research UK and the Church Restoration Appeal. The Myland Singers were joined by friends including Quattro Amici (a wonderful quartet of classical vocalists) as well as several talented pianists, all of whom delighted us with a mix of music and song.

An Entertaining Evening

All creatures great and small were celebrated at St. Michael's recently, and not just at our Pets' Service.

Saturday 23rd July saw some of our animal friends paraded via music and comedy as Paul Towns and John Chatfeild-Roberts, accompanied by Jenny Walker on piano, delighted us with an evening of entertainment from the work of Flanders and Swann (and others). A horse, an elephant, mad dogs, spiders and even a wild boar (well, sort of) all had their time in the limelight, as did the most famous of all - the hippopotamus!

We were also treated to Jenny's own beautiful award winning composition 'The Stream': truly enchanting!

Quattro Amici Delights on an Autumn Evening

Quattro Amici, the highly acclaimed quartet of classical vocalists, accompanied by our very own Joe Richardson on piano, delighted a packed church with music and songs from their broad repertoire. Puccini, Bizet, Rossini, Cole Porter, Schonberg, Lloyd-Webber & Rice, Abba & more: a wonderful concert to celebrate the early days of autumn.
