Photo of a ploughman's lunchLovely ladies lunch together

Lots of lovely ladies turned up to enjoy our Ladies' Lunch event on Saturday 19th August. A traditional ploughman's cheese, ham and salad platter was served followed by a selection of delicious cheesecakes and mille feuille desserts, and of course the essential cuppa!

It was a joyful afternoon spent dining and chatting, and it was all greatly appreciated. We send a big thank you to Di Ayton who organised the event, and to her team including Hazel Hughes and Jill Bollen; and to all who came along to support it. £132 was raised for church funds.

Eggs in a cartonEggs, sausages, bacon and ...muesli!

A full English breakfast is the perfect start to a weekend, and a good number of Myland residents certainly thought so when they joined us at our first community breakfast on Saturday 22nd July.

Scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, hash browns, tomato, baked beans, toast, tea & well as muesli, cornflakes and juice for those who fancied a starter!

Our huge thanks go to our multi-tasking breakfast chefs/waiters/dishwashers, namely The Reverend John Chandler, David Brown and Mike Aldous.

It was an excellent breakfast promoting community friendship and good conversation; to which so many people donated generously, raising over £90 for church funds. Thank you to all who came along to this lively event.

We hope to hold another community breakfast later in the year, in addition to the usual 'men's breakfast'.  If you missed it this time, you're welcome to come along to the next. Keep an eye on our home page!

Kitten in grassAll creatures great and small

Our special service of thanksgiving for the joy and companionship of our pets took place on the 9th July.  A wonderful menagerie of pets joined us...some more vocal than others!

This is a popular annual service but there is always room for more, so why not make a note to come along next year with your pet?
